The role involves 18 beds with 1:4–1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios and 1:9 CNA ratios, with patient populations including CHF, DM, UTI, sepsis, HTN, COPD, and end-of-life care. Shift is nights, 12-hour shifts (7p-7:30a).

Qualifications

• Active WA or Compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of acute care clinical experience required.
• Copy of driver’s license required for consideration.
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, with employment dates and rehire eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Med-Surg/Telemetry unit within an acute care, Level 1 trauma hospital
• 18-bed unit with 1:4/1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios and 1:9 CNA ratios
• Patient population includes medical-surgical overflow cases such as CHF, DM, UTI, non-critical sepsis, HTN, COPD, isolation, end-of-life/palliative care, and patients awaiting placement
• Titration of Heparin and Cardizem (up to 10mg/hr) drips required
• Unit staffed with Tele/Monitor Techs, Charge RN, and Nurse Aides
• RNs responsible for reading telemetry strips
• Uses CPAP and BiPAP equipment (no High Flow)
• Charting completed in EPIC
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts (7p-730a)
• Weekend requirement based on unit needs
• Floating required as needed
• No call or standby requirement
• Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical overflow and telemetry patients, including drip titration and strip reading
• 2-shift unit/department specific orientation provided
• Holiday coverage preferred, to be discussed during manager interview
• No specific scrub color required
• First-time travelers may be considered
