American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Psychiatric RN for a night shift position in Massachusetts, requiring an active MA RN license and 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience. The 36-hour weekly assignment runs over 13 weeks with on-site parking and floating to Epstein Units/AMHU as needed.

The role requires trauma-informed, patient-centered care with de-escalation skills and EPIC EMR use. Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are prioritized.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license required; no conditional licenses accepted.
• BLS certification required (AHA).
• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience at one location.
• Trauma-informed, patient-centered care skills required.
• Verbal de-escalation skills required.
• Primary source license verification within 30 days via NURSYS and BON.
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Pediatric Psychiatry unit providing 24-hour care for patients ages 4-18.
• Nurturing, non-coercive, trauma-informed care environment.
• 30-bed unit with a census of 20-25 patients.
• RN to patient ratio of 1 to 3.
• Uses EPIC EMR charting system.
• Night shift schedule, 19:00-07:30, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with every other weekend.
• 36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment.
• Floating required to other behavioral health areas within the Epstein Units and AMHU.
• Rotating shifts not required for night positions.
• Provide inpatient psychiatric nursing care to pediatric and adolescent patients ages 3-17.
• Free on-site parking available.
• Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility, with a reduced rate applying.
• RTO must be identified prior to consideration.
