Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN for a night shift opportunity at a small Vermont facility. The role requires a VT or compact RN license and current phlebotomy skills, with BLS mandatory and ACLS/CPI preferred.

You will provide direct inpatient psychiatric care to adults in a 10-bed unit, serving residents of Vermont and nearby Sullivan and Cheshire counties in New Hampshire. The schedule runs 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a 40-hour guarantee.

Qualifications

• Active VT or compact RN license.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• ACLS and CPI certifications strongly preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
• Current phlebotomy experience with blood draws.
• Travel nursing experience preferred.
• Small critical access facility experience preferred.
• Must have own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Care for adults in a 10-bed inpatient psychiatric unit.
• Provide direct inpatient psychiatric care to adults 18+.
• Night shift: 11:00 PM–7:30 AM, 8-hour shifts.
• 40-hour guarantee; 36 hours may be considered for the right candidate.
• Every other weekend required with holiday coverage as needed.
• Call and call-back not applicable for this role.
• Receive referrals from crisis teams, emergency departments, and outpatient providers in the community.
• Block scheduling will not be considered for this position.
• Must work two holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving through weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and following weekend, and New Year’s Eve through New Year’s Day and following weekend.
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of application and no more than 5 days will be accepted.
