Job summary
American Traveler is seeking a Behavioral Health RN for a float pool role in Maryland. You will cover 19 inpatient behavioral health units serving children, adolescents, and adults on a day shift (3x12s) with no on-call requirements and every other weekend.
Active MD or compact RN license in-hand is required, with 2 years nursing experience and 6 months to 1 year in psychiatric health preferred. Sunrise EMR experience is a plus.

- BLS certification required.
- Inpatient and locked unit treatment setting experience required.

- Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 11:00 to 23:30
- Every other weekend required

- Float within scope to meet facility needs across all age populations

- Fingerprinting must be completed in Maryland via livescan prior to start
- May be required to serve as charge RN during shifts without additional charge pay
- Provide nursing care across diverse psychiatric patient populations including children, adolescents, and adults
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Free employee parking available on campus
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted
- One pre-approved RTO request allowed
- Former permanent employees must wait one full year before applying for a travel position
- Candidates applying for a permanent position at the facility must wait one year before applying as a traveler
- Facility maintains a strict no-tolerance policy for medical marijuana cards and requires a first-time pass on drug screening
- Orientation occurs every other Thursday with associated non-billable training modules completed during orientation and annually
