Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a Pediatric ICU travel assignment in Indiana. The role requires PICU experience and active IN/Compact RN license, with BLS and PALS certs, and a willingness to travel.

You will work 3x12s in a pediatric hospital, with holiday coverage, and may float to nearby facilities. Travelers welcomed; Indiana locals not accepted.

Qualifications

• Active IN or Compact RN license in hand prior to start.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 18 months PICU experience required.
• Nursing degree from ACEN/CCNE-accredited program at graduation.
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood products, central line care, PICC management.
• Ventilated pediatric patient care and respiratory management experience.
• Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Knowledge of infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols.
• Proficiency in pediatric dosage calculations and emergency medications.
• Two supervisor references required.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
• Work day shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM.
• Work holidays as part of the schedule.
• Cerner charting system preferred.
• Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Local candidates in Indiana are not accepted for this position.
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.

• Experience caring for ventilated pediatric patients and respiratory management
• Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Knowledge of infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
• Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations and administration of medications including emergency medications
• 2 supervisor references required

• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must complete a designated break period to reset eligibility
