Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU role in Ohio. Must have 2+ years PICU experience and an OH or compact RN license in hand.

Day shift 3x12s (7:00 AM-7:30 PM) with weekend coverage and a requirement to float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, and other units. Epic EMR experience and travel housing/licensure reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active OH State or Compact RN license in hand.
• Current BLS and PALS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience.
• Recent Level 1 trauma center experience.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management, central/arterial line care, hemodynamic monitoring.
• Pediatric dosage calculations and emergency medication administration.
• Respiratory care including ETT/NT suctioning, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care.
• Two supervisory references, at least one from a manager/supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a PICU setting within a pediatric hospital.
• Day shift schedule; 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:30 PM).
• Every other weekend; based on RTO and unit needs.
• Float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Deliver critical care nursing to ventilated and unstable pediatric patients.
• Float to multiple units as part of facility practice.
• Makeup shifts within the same pay period for call-outs or absences.

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric ICU patients, including ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients


• Must be willing to float to multiple units as part of standard facility practice


• Makeup shifts required within the same pay period for any call-out or absence


• Candidates considered as first-time travelers must have closer to 3 years of recent PICU experience


• Must not have worked in a permanent role at the facility within the last 2 years


• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
