The role involves working in a pediatric diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab with day shifts (Mon-Fri 7:00-15:30) and on-call coverage including weekends. On-site position in Miami, FL with housing and licensure support offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years pediatric cath lab experience
• Pediatric or adult acute care RN experience
• BSN, CPN, or equivalent pediatric certification preferred
• BLS, PALS, ACLS certifications

Responsibilities

• Work in a pediatric diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab
• Provide family-centered nursing care to pediatric cath lab patients
• Complete pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for procedures
• Monitor vital signs, rhythms, IV lines during procedures
• Attend to post-operative care and discharge planning
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, ICU, and care teams
• Support Universal Protocol and surgical safety standards
• On-call duties during weekdays and weekends

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Cath Lab RN requiring 2+ years of peds cath experience, Cerner proficiency, and active FL or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or active eNLC/multistate RN license required
• Certifications required: BLS, PALS, ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric cath lab experience required
• Pediatric or adult acute care RN experience required
• Cerner EMR proficiency required
• Experience with cardiac procedures, pre/post-operative care, medication administration, IV drips, invasive lines, EKG interpretation, and patient monitoring preferred
• BSN, CPN, or equivalent pediatric certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in a pediatric diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab
• Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (0700-1530)
• On-call required: 7 consecutive days every other week, weekday call 1530-0700
• 24-hour call coverage required on weekends
• Procedures include diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, left and right heart catheterizations, and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Provide family-centered nursing care to pediatric cath lab patients using evidence-based practice and clinical judgment
• Complete pre-operative assessments, verify consents, prepare patients for procedures, and administer medications
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, IV drips, and invasive lines throughout procedures
• Assist with anesthesia, patient emergence, and sterile procedure support
• Document care in the electronic medical record and complete discharge planning
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, ICU, Child Life, Med-Surg, and other interdisciplinary teams
• Provide patient and family education and complete accurate handoffs
• Support Universal Protocol and surgical safety standards
• Participate in weekday and weekend call coverage
• Local candidates accepted
