American Traveler is hiring a CVPICU RN for a children's hospital pediatric cardiovascular ICU. Requires 2 years of recent pediatric CVICU experience and a CA RN license. Travel RN with active state license, BLS, and PALS is required.

The position includes day/night 3x12 shifts, six weekends every four weeks, and no on-call duties. Epic charting experience and pediatric cardiac care are essential for success.

• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric CVICU experience
• Formal training in Pediatric Cardiac ICU with full staff orientation
• Heart transplant experience required
• Strong cardiac skills including CVP and hemodynamic monitoring
• Ventilator management and ABG interpretation
• Experience as a travel RN
• Previous children’s hospital experience preferred

Responsabilidades

• Provide care in a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU setting in a children’s hospital
• Support variable day/night shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00–19:00 or 19:00–07:00
• Work 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs
• Proficient in Epic charting system
• Care for ventilated patients with multiple monitors and EKG interpretation
• Care for congenital heart disease/repair, heart transplant and post-cardiac surgery patients
• Facility is Level 1 trauma, Magnet-recognized teaching hospital
• Adhere to assignment RTO rules; limited time off while working 3 shifts/week
• Holiday coverage: 2 of 3 major holidays; holiday eves included
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must be separated for at least 1 year before traveling again
• Travelers may return after 1 year with 90-day wait

• Strong cardiac skills with experience in CVP monitoring, hemodynamic monitoring, and dysrhythmia management/interpretation
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and acute airway care required
• Previous travel RN experience required
• Previous children's hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU setting within a children's hospital
• Variable day/night shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00-19:00 or 19:00-7:00
• Required to work 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Fri/Sat nights for night shift, Sat/Sun for day shift)
• No on-call requirements
• Float required within scope of practice to meet facility needs
• Epic charting system experience required
• Care for patients requiring ventilator management, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation
• Experience with congenital heart disease/repair, heart transplant, and post cardiac surgery patients
• Located in a Level 1 trauma, Magnet-recognized teaching facility named a Top 10 Children's Hospital by U.S. News & World Report
• Maximum RTO of 6 days per assignment; must still work 3 shifts per week
• Required to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's), including holiday eves
• No RTO accommodated for Christmas Day or Eve
• Any scrub color accepted
• First-time travelers considered if they have strong relevant experience
• Local candidates (within 50 miles) are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible to travel
• Travelers who reach their one-year mark at this health system must wait 90 days before returning as a traveler
