Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Norfolk, VA. The right RN should have 1-2 years of acute care experience and will work a 13-week assignment.

This role offers 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts and travel status, including a tax-free stipend. As a PCU nurse, you will monitor cardiac patients on advanced equipment, prepare and administer medications, and perform IV starts and dressings.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS required; NIH certification may be required before assignment.
• 1.5 years of acute care nursing experience recommended.
• Travel RN with PCU specialty ideal.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Monitor and interpret patient monitoring equipment and vital signs.
• Initiate corrective actions based on monitoring data.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure patient safety.
