Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in Maine. The role requires 3+ years of PACU experience and both pre-op and post-anesthesia care skills in a hospital setting.

You will work varied day shifts (6a-6p, 8a-8p, 9a-9p) with minimal weekend hours, no on-call, and possible travel to nearby MaineHealth facilities within 25 miles. A Maine or Compact RN license is required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Maine or Compact) required.
• 3+ years of PACU experience required.
• Experience in both pre-op and PACU settings required.
• AHA certifications accepted if non-AHA equivalents are submitted, with AHA completion required before start.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Driver's license required for consideration.
• Two professional references required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit of a hospital setting.
• Care for surgical patients with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Provide direct patient care in pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery phases.
• Float to a different PACU within a 25-mile radius with the same patient population.
• Use Epic EMR for documentation and care coordination.
• First-time travelers may be considered.

• Varied day shifts including 6a-6p, 8a-8p, and 9a-9p schedules
• Minimal weekend hours required
• No call requirements
• Float required to a different PACU with the same patient population, within a 25-mile radius between facilities
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide direct patient care to surgical patients in pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery phases
• No specific scrub color required
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and not eligible for renewals or extensions
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this during consideration
• RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for the 13-week contract
