Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced PACU RN for a day-shift assignment in Jacksonville, NC. Candidates must hold an NC/compact RN license, current BLS/ACLS/PALS/CPI, at least one year in a hospital PACU, and pediatric OR experience. A current Nursys report within 7 days is required.

The role features 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM), on-call nights/weekends/holidays, and weekend coverage. Housing allowance and travel reimbursements are included in benefits.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications required.
• Minimum one year of Main Hospital PACU experience required.
• Pediatric experience in the operating room required.
• Current Nursys report dated within the past 7 days required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• 8-bay Post Anesthesia Care Unit providing immediate postoperative care.
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• On-call for nights, weekends, and holidays, typically one night per week.
• Weekend and holiday coverage required.
• Floating to units with similar or lower acuity as needed.
• Meditech charting experience highly preferred.
• Manage patient airways, pain levels, vital signs, and other postoperative needs before transfer to the Ambulatory Surgery Unit.
• Work as part of a collaborative, team-based Surgical Services department alongside board-certified surgeons and experienced healthcare professionals.
• Utilize the latest surgical technology and equipment in a patient safety-focused environment.
• Residence outside a 50-mile radius required.
• Requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration, with a maximum of 5 days subject to manager discretion.
• Profile must clearly indicate if candidate is a former employee of the health system.
