Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric OR RN for a Level I trauma center in Indiana. Active IN or compact RN license and BLS required. Minimum 2 years OR and scrub experience, travel RN preferred. Neuro OR experience welcome; Cerner is preferred.

Expect 4x10h days or 5x8h options, with possible float within hospital or to nearby affiliates. 2 references and SSN/DOB required for consideration. Open travel roles and housing support included.

Qualifications

  • Active IN or compact RN license in hand.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years OR experience.
  • Scrub experience required.
  • Prior travel RN experience.
  • Level I trauma center experience preferred.
  • Neuro OR experience required (adult experience acceptable).
  • Cerner charting experience preferred.
  • 2 supervisor references required.
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration.
  • Nursing school ACEN or CCNE accredited at graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Level I trauma center Pediatric OR unit.
  • Pediatric population includes neonates, infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, and some adults.
  • Surgical specialties include General, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Plastics, ENT, Orthopedic, Trauma, and Neurosurgery.
  • Cases range from minor procedures to complex cases such as ECMO, burn procedures, tumor resections, and trauma procedures.
  • Equipment used includes Stealth, DaVinci, and ROSA.
  • Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00-17:30) with an option for 5x8-hour shifts (7:00-15:30).
  • Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals.
  • Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide range of pediatric and adult surgical procedures.
  • Local IN candidates are accepted for this Surgical Services position at a lower pay package.
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
  • Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval.

  • Any former IU Health perm or PRN employee must be separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
  • Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a designated break to reset eligibility: 90 days for out-of-state residents and 180 days for in-state residents
