American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for a Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Alaska. An active AK RN license and at least 1 year of CVOR experience are required.

American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for a Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital requiring an active AK RN license and at least 1 year of CVOR experience.

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required, with strong preference for license in hand at time of submission (compact license accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience required
• Experience with administration of blood and blood products, infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, and Universal Protocol (time-out) procedures
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at a Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
• On-call responsibilities required, including weekend on-call coverage
• Assists with cardiovascular procedures including ASD repair, CABG, MAZE procedure, mitral valve replacement, and TAVR
• Uses cell saver equipment during procedures
• Epic EMR system used for charting
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities
• Open to block scheduling accommodations
• Provides direct perioperative nursing care for complex cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Scrubs provided by facility; free parking available
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
• All requested time off must be submitted with the initial application, as post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
