Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Operating Room for a Level I/II Trauma teaching hospital. Proficiency with the Da Vinci Xi robotic system and PA or compact RN licensure are required. The role requires travel nursing experience, BLS, Epic charting, and ability to scrub and circulate across multiple surgical specialties.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (PA or compact) required, with no license violations accepted.
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC only)
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience, with at least 2 years out of orientation
• Level II Trauma experience required (over 1 year), Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Must be proficient with the Da Vinci Xi robotic system without need for refresher training; familiarity with the DV5 Da Vinci robot is a plus
• Proficiency required in robotic general, GYN, thoracic, and urology specialties
• Must demonstrate independent competency in a wide range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, vascular, GYN, bariatrics, ENT, plastics, trauma, and thoracic procedures
• Preference for RNs who can both scrub and circulate
• May provide care to COVID-positive patients
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days per contract
• Cannot be approved for Black Friday off and RTO is restricted the week of Christmas
• Travelers expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for the standard travel rate; local candidates may be offered at a reduced rate

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit at a teaching hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Call requirements of 2-3 calls within a 6-week matrix with a 30-minute response time
• 3-4 weekend shifts required within a 6-week matrix, which may fall on day, evening, or night shifts
• Floating required as needed
• Holiday coverage required as needed across day, evening, or night shifts
• Must function independently across multiple surgical specialties including robotics, orthopedics, general surgery, GYN, urology, bariatrics, ENT, plastics, vascular, and thoracic (excluding cardiac/open heart)
• Preference for RNs who can both scrub and circulate
• May provide care to COVID-positive patients
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
