Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an Operating Room RN for a Level II Trauma center in Maryland. 2-3 years OR experience with DaVinci robotics and scrub/circulate skills is required.

The role includes day shifts 06:45–15:15, Mon-Fri, with weekend rotations and on-call. Epic EMR proficiency is needed; CNOR/NIHSS and charge experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in MD or Compact state.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• 2–3 years OR nursing experience; strong robotics experience.
• Proficient in scrub and circulate roles.
• Experience with DaVinci robotic systems.
• Epic EMR experience.
• Community hospital background.
• CNOR and NIHSS certifications preferred.
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate OR unit at Level II Trauma center.
• Care for adult and geriatric patients.
• 1:1 patient ratio.
• Perform diverse general OR cases including trauma, uro, ortho, plastics, neuro, gyn, ENT, etc.
• DaVinci robotics experience required.
• Epic EMR required.
• Day shift, 06:45-15:15, Mon-Fri.
• Weekend rotation and on-call shifts.
• On-call approx. 5–6 times per 4 weeks, incl. one weekend.
• Weekday/weeknight on-call until 6:30 am next day.
• Weekend on-call is 24 hours; arrive within 30 mins.
• Floating to other specialties and sister campus as needed.
• Scrub and circulate across a wide range of surgical services.
• Robotic systems (Da Vinci) experience required.
• Use specialized perioperative equipment.
• Manage emergency protocols including code and safety.
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled, inclusive of on-call.
• First-time travelers accepted with strong OR & robotics background.

• Day shift, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday (06:45-15:15)
• Weekend rotation required, inclusive of on-call shifts
• On-call required approximately 5-6 times per 4-week period, including one weekend call
• Weekday/weeknight on-call runs from end of shift until 6:30 am the next morning
• Weekend on-call is a 24-hour shift requiring arrival within 30 minutes of being called in
• Floating required within specialty and to a sister campus as needed
• Perform scrub and circulating duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, neurology, orthopedics, cardiovascular, general surgery, vascular, endoscopic, urology, ENT, and bariatric procedures
• Experience with robotic surgical systems including Da Vinci and Da Vinci SP required
• Utilizes specialized equipment such as cell savers, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana tables
• Responsible for emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia procedures
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled, inclusive of on-call
• First-time travelers accepted with strong general OR and robotics experience
