Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel assignment in New Jersey. The nurse must scrub and circulate on robotics, orthopedic, neurologic, and general surgical cases and meet NJ or compact licensure requirements.

The role features 36 hours per week with 12-hour shifts, on-call duties, and floating to a nearby sister hospital. EPIC charting is used for documentation and PAT education is required.

Qualifications

• Active NJ or compact RN license is required.
• BLS certification required.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room setting within a hospital.
• Must scrub and circulate on robotics, orthopedic, neurologic, and general procedures.
• AM shift schedule, 11a-12a, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week.
• 36 hours per week.
• On-call required.
• Floating required to nearby sister hospital.
• Uses EPIC charting system.
• Perform comprehensive pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education.
• Support Pre Admission Testing (PAT) and evaluate orders for appropriateness.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient progress.
• Follow NP safety goals, Universal Protocol, safe patient handling.
• Collaborate with perioperative team to coordinate care.
• Local candidates accepted at different pay rate.
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role.
