Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an Operating Room assignment in California. Candidates must hold CNOR, a California RN license, and have prior travel nursing experience.

The role requires 1:1 patient care and the ability to scrub a variety of surgical procedures. Shift is day work: 4x10 hours from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM, Monday through Thursday, with rotating call after hours and on weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years OR experience in a hospital setting.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Experience scrubbing a variety of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a community hospital OR with 1:1 patient care.
• Perform circulating and scrubbing duties across multiple specialties.
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation.
• Work day shift: 4x10 hours, 6:45 AM–5:15 PM, Monday–Thursday.
• Be available for rotating call after hours and on weekends.
• Support a broad range of surgical procedures including gynecology, orthopedics, general surgery, and more.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring CNOR certification, CA RN license, and prior travel nursing experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CNOR
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience scrubbing a variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Community hospital setting in the Operating Room department
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Utilizes Epic charting system
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, Monday-Thursday, 6:45 AM-5:15 PM
• Rotating call required after hours and on weekends
• Supports a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, orthopedics, general surgery, podiatry, ophthalmology, trauma, neurology, bariatrics, and thoracic procedures
• Utilizes electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana table, and Steris equipment
• Perform circulating and scrubbing duties across diverse surgical specialties including gynecology, orthopedics, general surgery, and more
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Experience with conscious sedation monitoring and infection control practices
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• Holiday coverage required with only 1 holiday RTO request approved per contract
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Local candidates accepted at local pay rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
• First-time travelers considered given required travel experience is already met
