Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Operating Room for a Level One Trauma Center specializing in Gynecology and Genitourinary procedures. A minimum of 2-3 years of OR experience is required.

The position involves 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM day shifts, 1:4 weekend rotation, and an overnight Trauma on-call shift. Travel nursing with MaineHealth local rules applies for candidates within 90 miles.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Maine or Compact) required upon consideration.
• BLS and specialty certifications as required; non-AHA certifications accepted at consideration but AHA certification must be completed before start
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of Level 1 trauma OR experience required
• Competency in Robotics (Da Vinci Xi) and multiple GU/GYN surgical procedures required
• Epic EMR experience
• Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references required

Responsibilities

• Operate in a Level One Trauma Center OR with 26 beds.
• 1:1 patient ratios.
• Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics.
• Specializes in Gynecology and Genitourinary procedures including PCNLs, Nephrectomies, Ureteral Reimplants, Hysterectomies, Cystectomies, Colpocleisis, Hysteroscopies, and Ureteroscopies.
• Documents in Epic EMR.
• Deliver expert surgical nursing care in a fast-paced trauma environment.
• Requires a flexible, accountable, and team-oriented personality.
• Teal scrubs are issued by the hospital.
• Candidates located within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local.
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract.
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this at time of consideration

• Additional required skillset includes General, Ortho trauma, Ortho joints, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, and Endovascular procedures
• Uses Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Da Vinci Xi Robot equipment
• Documents in Epic EMR
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 1:4 weekend rotation with 12-hour shifts
• On-call requirement includes one overnight Trauma call shift (11 PM-7 AM); specialty team members follow their team's specific call rules
• 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed
• Deliver expert surgical nursing care in a fast-paced, high-stress trauma environment
• Requires a flexible, accountable, and team-oriented personality
• Teal scrubs are issued by the hospital
• Candidates located within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this at time of consideration
