Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced Operating Room RN with strong orthopedic and sports medicine experience for a surgical hospital setting in Kansas. KS or Compact RN licensure is required, with current BLS and ACLS certifications.

The role covers a high-volume orthopedic caseload in a 6-room unit, 4 dedicated to orthopedics, and daily shifts of 4x10 hours (6:30 AM–4:30 PM). Travel experience is valued; first-time travelers are not considered.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (KS or Compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience
• Strong orthopedic and sports medicine surgical experience
• Knowledge of surgical instruments, room setup, and workflow for orthopedic procedures

Responsibilities

• Operate within a surgical hospital OR unit with multiple rooms.
• Handle high-volume total joint and sports medicine cases daily.
• Perform case setup, turnover, and instrument handling for orthopedic procedures.
• Assist with instrument sterilization and preparation as needed.
• Adhere to schedule: 4x10 hour days, no weekends or on-call.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with strong orthopedic and sports medicine experience for a surgical hospital setting requiring KS or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Strong orthopedic and sports medicine surgical experience required
• Must know surgical instruments, room setup, and workflow for orthopedic procedures

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit within a surgical hospital with 6 total operating rooms, 4 dedicated to orthopedics daily
• High volume of total joint replacement cases (knee, hip, shoulder, ankle) with minimal vendor assistance
• Additional caseload includes sports medicine procedures such as ACL repairs, shoulder scopes, rotator cuff repairs, and meniscal repairs
• Averages approximately 25 cases per day
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends, holidays, or call requirements
• Responsible for pulling own cases, setting up and turning over own operating rooms
• May assist sterile processing staff with instrument sterilization or assembling instrument sets
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
