Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a Massachusetts RN license for a 13-week day shift assignment supporting a wide range of surgical specialties. The role requires active MA RN license and a minimum of 1 year OR experience, with BLS; ACLS and CNOR preferred.

Perioperative care across multiple specialties will be provided, with floating rotations as needed and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license required.
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room experience required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred.
• Meditech Expanse experience required.
• Experience with equipment including electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana Table, and Steris systems.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting.
• 4x10 hour day shifts scheduled from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• On-call required one night per week and weekends based on staffing needs.
• No floating or weekend shift requirements outside of on-call rotation.
• Uses Omnicell, Meditech Expanse, and SBAR communication systems.
• Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical procedures and specialties.
• Participate in floating rotations with facility staff in accordance with unit floating policies and appropriate orientation.
• Expect to work some holidays during the assignment.
• Minimize requests for time off, especially during the first two weeks of the assignment or for full weeks off.
• First-time travelers may be considered if they have relevant OR experience.
• Candidates within a 30-mile radius are accepted at the same pay rate.

• Active Massachusetts RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room experience required

• Meditech charting system experience required
• Community Hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience across multiple surgical specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Urology, ENT, and Endoscopic procedures
• Skilled in professional OR competencies such as IV starts, specimen handling, cardiac monitoring, and Universal Protocol/Time Out procedures
• Experience with equipment including electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana Table, and Steris systems
