Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN with NM or Compact license and prior travel experience for a fast-paced surgical unit.

This role requires active NM or Compact RN licensure, BLS, and at least 2 years of recent OR RN experience, with travel nursing experience preferred. The position offers a day shift 4x10 schedule, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, and opportunities across multiple surgical specialties with generous housing allowances and travel reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending NM/Compact accepted if obtained prior to start.
• BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and CNOR preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Skills or experience with neurosurgery, joint replacements, robotic surgeries, cystoscopy, and ENT procedures valued.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room setting supporting a wide range of surgical specialties including neurology, orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, podiatry, ophthalmology, and robotics.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
• 1:1 patient ratio.
• Float between the main hospital and the Heart Hospital, approximately 0.2 miles apart.
• Call required 4-5 shifts per 6-week period, including weekends.
• Epic charting system preferred.
• Provide perioperative nursing care across multiple surgical specialties.
• Floating to like units within scope required based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided.
• Lab work must be completed within 48 business hours of contract signing.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted.
• No travel pairs or groups accepted.
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• No RTO approved during the first week of orientation, with a maximum of 3 days auto-approved thereafter.
• Onsite orientation includes required training modules.
