Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with craniotomy and burr hole experience for a 13-week day shift assignment.

You will cover Neuro/Spine, Orthopedic/Trauma, and General/Robotics cases. Schedule is 3x12s from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with call; travel housing and licensure support provided. Must reside within 150 miles; 1:1 patient ratio; Da Vinci Xi robotics used; Labs due within 72 hours.

Qualifications

• Active RN license TX or Compact in hand
• Minimum 2 years OR experience
• Craniotomy and burr hole experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC preferred
• Experience with trauma, amputations, burns, gunshot/stab wounds, MVA cases
• Neurological procedures including anterior cervical fusion, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion
• Orthopedic procedures including ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, arthrotomy, carpal tunnel release, fracture reductions
• General surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy
• Da Vinci Xi robotics experience preferred
• Allscripts charting experience preferred
• Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• General OR setting covering Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma service lines
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with call and late days as required
• Alternative schedules may be considered (4x10s or 5x8s) based on traveler preference
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Uses Da Vinci Xi Surgical System for robotic procedures
• Must reside within 150 miles of the facility for RN/LVN local radius requirements
• Local candidates within radius not accepted for Allied/CNA roles
• Previous permanent staff must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a plan
• Facility conducts onsite drug screen, including marijuana testing, with mandatory compliance
• Non-billable orientation modules averaging 6-8 hours during orientation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
