Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Nurse for Neuro ICU with strong neuro critical care experience, including EVD management and SAH care. Must hold an active SC or Compact RN license and current BLS/ACLS/NIHSS.

Position requires at least 2 years RN experience (1 year in Neuro ICU) and Epic EMR proficiency. Night shifts and travel responsibilities may apply; travel nurses must reside >100 miles from Prisma Health facilities.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience; 1 year Neuro ICU specialty.
• Epic EMR experience is required.
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience in a 300+ bed facility is advantageous.
• Skilled in EVD management, ICP monitoring and post-neurosurgery care.
• Strong cardiovascular monitoring and dysrhythmia management.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the Neuro ICU for neurologically complex and post-surgical patients.
• Care for SAH patients and those with EVD/lumbar drain management.
• Work 7:00 AM–7:30 PM on a 3x12 schedule; 1:2 patient ratio.
• Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation.
• Travelers may be floated to other units per facility needs.

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Neuro ICU position requiring strong neuro critical care experience including EVD/lumbar drain management and SAH patient care.

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or Compact)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 year of recent experience within the Neuro ICU specialty
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience in a 300+ bed facility
• Skilled in EVD management, ICP monitoring, CVA/acute stroke management, and post-neurosurgery care
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and ventilator management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and titration of vasoactive and sedation drips
• First-time travelers must have 2 years of specialty experience

Responsibilities

• Work in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) of a hospital setting
• Care for SAH patients and those requiring EVD/lumbar drain management
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Uses Epic EMR
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses may be required per facility request
• Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex and post-surgical patients
• Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Orientation occurs every Monday and includes annual compliance training
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible, with reduced eligibility between 90-99.9 miles
• Night shift and certain specialty travelers may be eligible under reduced mileage exceptions depending on campus
• Holiday and float coverage may be required based on facility census needs
• First-time travelers may be considered with sufficient specialty experience
