American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position in Colorado, requiring an active CO or compact license and at least one year of dedicated neuro ICU experience.

The role is hospital-based in a comprehensive stroke center with night shifts (3x12), 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, and opportunities for float to sister facilities within the metro region. Epic is used for charting and rapid onboarding is provided.

Qualifications

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Minimum 1 year in a dedicated Neuro ICU.
• Level II Trauma experience required.
• Level I Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for high-acuity neuro ICU patients in a 24-bed Neurosurgical ICU.
• Operate in a fast-paced Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level I Trauma Center.
• Night shift: 19:00–07:30, 3x12-hour shifts; weekend coverage per unit needs.
• RN-to-patient ratio of 1:2; floating to sister facilities as needed.
• Use Epic for charting; complete orientation within the first week.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a CO or compact license and at least one year of dedicated neuro ICU experience.

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a dedicated Neuro specialty ICU required
• Level II Trauma experience required
• Level I Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Competent in hourly neurological assessments
• Experience with intracranial pressure management
• Experience with External Ventricular Drain (EVD/Ventric/Intraventricular Drain) management
• Experience managing subarachnoid hemorrhage
• Experience with post-thrombectomy management
• Experience with post-craniotomy management (post brain tumor resection)

Responsibilities

• 24-bed Neurosurgical ICU within a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level I Trauma Center
• High acuity, fast-paced surgical ICU setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30), various days of week
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required, including to sister facilities in the Metro region per facility needs
• Uses Epic for charting
• Provide critical care nursing to high-acuity neurosurgical ICU patients
• Navy scrubs required
• Completion of all facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply if experience requirements are met
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates may be subject to eligibility restrictions
• Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment may not be rebooked for at least one year
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during peak holiday and high-census periods
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• Local candidates accepted
