Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Postpartum position in Fort Collins, CO. Requires 2 years of experience and CO or compact RN license. Certifications: BLS, NRP; AWHONN/CLC preferred. Epic charting experience is required.

Night shift 19:00-07:30, 3x12s; weekends as needed; no on-call. Floating within scope to sister facilities in the North Region. Navy blue scrubs are required.

Responsibilities

• Standard Mother-Baby unit care for postpartum mothers and newborns
• Care for vaginal and cesarean births, late preterm and term newborns
• Maintain 1:3-4 couplet patient ratio
• Night shift 19:00-07:30, 3x12 hours
• Weekend coverage as needed; 2 Fridays, 2 Saturdays, 2 Sundays every 6 weeks
• Floating within scope to sister facilities as needed
• Charting completed in Epic
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Provide comprehensive postpartum and newborn care and safe transition to home
• RTO limited to 10 days per 13-week contract

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Postpartum position requiring 2 years of experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• BLS and NRP (AHA) certifications required
• AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, and CLC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC), and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with antepartum, high-risk antepartum, Level 1 nursery, postpartum, and Special Care Nursery/Level II settings
• Experience administering medications such as antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, heparin, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and Pitocin
• Skilled in newborn care including cord care, discharge teaching, infant identification, IV antibiotics, metabolic screening, neonatal abstinence syndrome care, newborn assessment, phototherapy, and thermoregulation
• Skilled in postpartum care including bladder assessment/Foley catheter insertion, breast engorgement management, breastfeeding instruction, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and couplet care
• Experience with postpartum care of cesarean section, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and vaginal delivery patients
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and vaccine administration
• Experience with pain management including opioids, pain assessment, post-epidural management, and use of PCA (IV)

Responsibilities

• Standard Mother-Baby unit providing family-centered care for postpartum mothers, newborn infants, and obstetric patients requiring antenatal monitoring
• Cares for patients following vaginal and cesarean births, late preterm and term newborns, and infants requiring extended observation or specialized neonatal care
• 18 staffed beds with a patient ratio of 1:3-4 couplets
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30), various days of the week
• Weekend requirements per unit needs: 2 Fridays, 2 Saturdays, 2 Sundays per 6-week schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities within the North Region as needed
• Charting completed in Epic
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Provide comprehensive care to postpartum mothers and newborns with a focus on maternal recovery, newborn well-being, patient education, and safe transition to home
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with RTO restricted during select high-census periods
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate for those residing within 75 miles of the facility
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates, or who applied to UCHealth internal travel/perm positions within the last two years, will not be considered
• Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
• Completion of all facility-specific training modules required within the first week of the assignment
