Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking a Mother Baby RN for a postpartum unit in Kentucky. The role requires an active KY or compact RN license and BLS certification, plus NRP within 6 months of hire.

You will provide postpartum nursing assessments, collaborate with lactation consultants, and support families through admission, discharge, and teaching. Travel-ready candidates residing within 75 miles are welcome.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license.
• Current BLS certification.
• NRP certification within 6 months of hire.
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide postpartum care on a 42-bed Mother/Baby unit.
• Collaborate with specialized nurses, newborn assessment nurses, and lactation consultants.
• 1st shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7a-7:30p.
• 4 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period.
• No on-call requirements; holiday coverage as needed.
• Provide postpartum nursing assessments and care tailored to patient culture, age, and developmental needs.
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching.
• Develop and revise individualized plans of care based on patient and family response.
• Deliver patient and family education to support smooth transition home.
• Mentor staff members, nursing students, and new hires as a clinical role model.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits.
• Candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate.
