American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an RN with Wound/Ostomy Care experience for an inpatient wound care assignment in Washington. Requires WOCN or WCC certification and 2+ years of experience, with WA or Compact RN license and BLS.

The role is an inpatient wound/ostomy unit in an acute care hospital, with 4x10s shifts, no weekend or holiday requirements, and travel across multiple hospitals as needed. First-time travelers welcome.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• WOCN certification required; WCC via NAWCO accepted.
• CWON certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• No BSN required.
• Copy of driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Wound & Ostomy unit in an acute care hospital setting.
• Treats 5–15 patients per day including new consults.
• Works with 3–4 other RNs in this specialty.
• Manages ostomies, draining wounds, fistulas, and ulcers.
• Treats skin conditions from incontinence, procedures, and trauma.
• Uses Smith & Nephew wound VAC systems.
• Uses EPIC EMR.
• Days shift schedule: 4x10s.
• Float to St Clare, St Elizabeth, St Frances, St Anthony, and St Anne as needed.
• No weekend/holiday/call required.
• Coordinate patient care and wound management per standards and plans.
• Documentation, billing, and discharge planning for supplies.

• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Wound & Ostomy unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Treats a minimum of 5-15 patients per day including new consults
• Works alongside 3-4 other RNs in this specialty role
• Manages ostomies, draining wounds, fistulas, and pressure, vascular, arterial, and diabetic ulcerations
• Treats skin conditions resulting from incontinence, surgical procedures, and trauma
• Uses Smith and Nephew wound vac systems
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Days shift schedule (4x10s)
• Float required to St Clare, St Elizabeth, St Frances, St Anthony, and St Anne as needed, sometimes planned in advance
• No weekend requirements
• No holiday requirements
• No call or standby requirements
• Manages and coordinates patient care and wound management through consults and recommendations in accordance with established standards and care plans
• Responsible for documentation, billing, and discharge planning for supplies
• Conducts identification, assessment, prevention, and continuing education related to wound care
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams
• Provided a phone for photo documentation purposes
• Orientation includes 12 hours of unit/department-specific training with a preceptor across all covered hospitals
• No color preference for scrubs
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
