Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in a hospital setting. Candidates must hold a TN or compact RN license and have at least 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience, with proficiency in IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and oxygen administration.

The role includes a 3x12-hour night schedule, floating, and Epic EHR experience. AHA BLS is required and ACLS is preferred; travel housing and licensure reimbursements are offered.

Qualifications

• Active TN or compact RN license required.
• AHA BLS certification required; AHA ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required.
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management.
• Experience with blood product administration and central line blood draws preferred.
• BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care.
• Chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) and high flow nasal cannula experience preferred.
• Colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube care and management.
• CVAs care and management of heparin and insulin medications.
• Dysrhythmias interpretation and telemetry monitoring.
• Rapid response/code team experience preferred.
• Isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac.
• Renal failure care and surgical drain management preferred.
• Total joint replacement care preferred.
• Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing.
• Facial hair trimming/removal to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 36/36 schedule.
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7.
• Floating required.
• No call requirements.
• Epic charting system experience preferred.
• Provide nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support.
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties.
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBL modules, averaging 4-5 non-billable hours.
• Drug test must be completed within 12-14 calendar days prior to start, with availability for a second test if needed.
