Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for Med-Surg-Telemetry with oncology exposure in Illinois. Active IL license, 1+ year of cardiac/telemetry practice, and critical care skills are required.

This night shift position is on a Med-Surg-Telemetry-Oncology unit, offering EPIC charting and the chance to work in a Magnet-designated facility. Candidates must meet all listed certifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum 1 year of med-surg cardiac/telemetry experience required.
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration.
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration not required).
• Knowledge of heparin protocols and rapid response/code team procedures.
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care.
• Comfortable using isolation precautions and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care on a Med-Surg-Telemetry-Oncology unit in an acute care hospital.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (1845-0715), three days per week.
• Every other weekend required.
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• May be required to float between Belleville and Shiloh locations and within facility as needed.
• Uses EPIC charting system.
• Provide direct patient care to cardiac, telemetry, and oncology patients in a Magnet-designated facility.

• Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved, no exceptions
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days within the 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• Travelers must take a 3-month break after completing an 18-month tenure at the facility
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
