Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of specialty experience and a PA or compact RN license. You will work in a hospital setting on a Med/Surg Tele unit with a 1:6 patient ratio and a 7:00 AM–7:00 PM day shift.

Epic charting is used; travel and eligibility within 50 miles are considered. Requirements include PA/compact RN license, BLS, 2+ years of Med/Surg Tele, and various certifications.

Qualifications

• Active PA or Compact RN license in hand.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience.
• Epic charting experience required.
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management.
• Respiratory care skills including chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management.
• Wound care and wound vac experience.
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge.
• Two valid professional references and certification copies.
• Must pass required clinical competency exam (3 attempts allowed).

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:6.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Every other weekend requirement.
• No floating required.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg and telemetry patients, including orthopedic, renal, and post-surgical cases.
• Charge experience preferred but not required.
• Navy scrubs required.
• Must complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
• PA fingerprinting required and must be completed within 1 week of signing, which may involve travel over 100 miles.
• RTO must be submitted at time of application and cannot be added afterward.
• Local candidates accepted at a differential rate within a 50-mile radius.
• First time travelers are welcome to apply.
