Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for night shifts in Oklahoma City. Requires Med/Surg and step-down experience with hospital-wide potential floating.

Active Oklahoma or compact RN license, BLS, 1+ year RN experience, ADN required with BSN preferred, and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or compact eNLC).
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Specialty unit (3rd Floor Overflow).
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, 3 days per week.
• Med/Surg and step-down experience required.
• May be floated to any area of the hospital.
• Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health conditions from simple to complex.
• Document patient responses to interventions and treatments, noting changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor physiological data and intervene as needed. Administer medications and regulate IV infusions and blood products.
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge instructions.
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered.
• Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration.
• Strict adherence to credentialing and compliance deadlines is required, with no flexibility for start date delays.
• Travelers may extend once for a maximum of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before reapplying after that.
