American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg-Tele RN for a night shift contract requiring telemetry experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

The role is in a community hospital's Med/Surg-Tele unit with 4x12-hour nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). Expect 1:5–6 patient ratios, occasional float to other MS units, and Cerner charting. 50% holiday coverage including Dec 24 & 31, 2026; local rates may apply based on distance.

Qualifications

• Active MO license or Compact license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year telemetry experience
• Community hospital experience required
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management preferred
• Cardiac monitoring, telemetry and rapid response protocols preferred

Responsabilités

• Care for Med/Surg-Telemetry patients in an acute care hospital
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6
• Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Float to other MS units or MS/Tele as a sitter
• Cerner charting preferred
• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Interact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
• Holiday coverage: 50% including Dec 24 & 31, 2026
• Local candidates accepted; distances affect local rate and extensions

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience required, first-time travelers considered
• Community hospital experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team protocols preferred
• Must be able to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg-Tele unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Floating required, including to other MS units or MS/Tele as a Patient Observer (sitter)
• Cerner charting system preferred but not required
• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg and Telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response as needed
• Role involves routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
• 50% holiday coverage required, including Dec 24 and Dec 31, 2026
• Local candidates are accepted, though those within 50 miles are not eligible and those 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
• Local candidates will not be eligible for extensions beyond the initial contract
• Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed, none during the first week due to orientation
• 36 or 48 hour contract options available
