Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Float Pool night shift at a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital in Vermont. Must have active VT or Compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, and EPIC EMR experience. Minimum 2 years in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry and a strong trauma/academic setting background are required.

Position involves 12-hour nights, 36 hours weekly, with every other weekend and some holiday coverage. Travel-friendly with housing allowances and relocation options may apply.

Qualifications

• Active RN license VT or Compact.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience.
• Experience at a large Level 1 trauma, academic teaching facility.
• Experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry.
• EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years.
• Complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type.
• Any employment gaps over 90 days must be explained

Responsibilities

• Float Pool position within Medical Surgical/Telemetry units at a hospital.
• Floating across areas including hematology, oncology, orthopedics, med tele, general surgery, neurology and related units.
• Travelers float first within the central pool.
• 12-hour night shift, 36 hours per week.
• Minimum of every other weekend required with scheduling flexibility.
• No block schedules; schedule runs Monday to Sunday.
• Provide nursing care across Med/Surg Tele and float units.
• Bi-weekly orientation held on Mondays.
• Must work 2 of the following 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day.
• Reliable transportation recommended; local candidates accepted.
• Radius-based pay tiers based on mileage from facility.

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience at a large Level 1 trauma, academic teaching facility required
• Experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry specialty required
• EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years required
• Complete work history must be provided including bed count, EMR, and facility type

• Floating required across support areas including hematology, oncology, orthopedics, med tele, general surgery, neurology (including neuro SDU), neurosurgery, ENT, and GYN, and to units outside the candidate's POD with similar skill requirements, including ED boarders and surge areas
• Travelers float first within the central pool
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 36 hours per week
• Minimum of every other weekend required, with scheduling flexibility to meet unit and patient care needs
• No block schedules permitted
• Schedule runs Monday to Sunday
• Provide nursing care across Med/Surg Tele and related float units supporting diverse patient populations
• Bi-weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Must work 2 of the following 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day
• Reliable personal transportation strongly recommended as public transportation is not accessible in the area
• Local candidates accepted
• Radius-based pay tiers apply based on direct-line mileage from the facility
