American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele assignment in New Mexico. The role requires 1-2 years of recent RN experience and a NM or Compact license.

The position covers 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with potential for 36–48 hour weeks. Non-local candidates outside 100 miles are preferred, and travel housing and licensure assistance are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent RN experience in a similar setting.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Must be willing to work relief charge as needed.

Responsibilities

• Telemetry assignment on PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown units.
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM.
• Potential for 36 or 48 hour weeks.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management.
• Provide IV therapy and phlebotomy.
• Direct patient care on telemetry-focused unit.
• Complete orientation modules and annual training.
• EKG competency testing with up to 2 attempts.
• Overtime requires client approval.
• RTO: max 7 days, including 1 holiday; none in first/last 7 days.
• Assignment length: 10 weeks minimum; 6-month system break after year/4 contracts.
• Former staff: 12-month separation required to return.
• First-time travelers considered depending on unit/experience.

• Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• NIHSS certification preferred if not already held
• Minimum 1-2 years of recent experience in a similar setting
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Must be willing to work relief charge as needed
• Non-local candidates only, must reside outside a 100-mile radius of the facility
• Non-local driver's license required on file
• Drug screen required within 30 days of start

Responsibilities

• Assignment on a PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown telemetry unit
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 12-hour shift schedule with potential for 36 or 48 hour weeks
• Performs cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Provides IV therapy and phlebotomy, including starting and maintaining IVs
• Provides direct patient care on a telemetry-focused medical-surgical unit
• Completes required clinical modules during orientation and annually
• EKG competency testing required (pass/fail, maximum 2 attempts)
• Overtime must be approved by the client before being worked
• Preceptor pay is not offered for this position
• Maximum of 7 days RTO preferred, including 1 holiday
• No RTO permitted during the first or last 7 days of the contract
• Assignment length is 10 weeks minimum for new and extension contracts
• 6-month system break required after 1 year or 4 consecutive contracts
• Former staff must have a 12-month separation before returning
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on unit and experience
