Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift travel assignment in New Mexico. This 15-bed Med/Surg Tele unit serves adult and geriatric patients; RN license (Compact or NM) and 2+ years of experience are required.

Responsibilities include direct patient care on a 5:1 ratio, telemetry interpretation, use of Medhost EHR, and supervision under the Director of Inpatient Services. Housing allowance and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Compact or NM) currently in hand.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Minimum of two years RN experience required.
• Experience caring for surgical patients required.
• Stepdown unit experience and telemetry interpretation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting, 15-bed unit on the 2nd floor.
• Adult and geriatric patient population, mostly geriatric.
• Patient ratio of 5:1.
• Uses GE equipment and Medhost EHR.
• Night shift schedule, 7P-7A.
• Weekend requirement of minimum 4 hours per month, every other weekend.
• No on-call requirements.
• Rarely required to float to assist other units.
• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric med/surg and telemetry patients.
• Work under the supervision of the Director of Inpatient Services.
• Team-oriented environment requiring a positive attitude and ability to work with limited resources.
• Scrub color is unrestricted.
• Must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months.
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment.
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel assignment.
