Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Chemo-Certified RN for outpatient oncology infusion at a Kennesaw clinic. You will administer chemotherapy, manage IV therapies, ports and central lines, and monitor patient safety.

Requires active GA RN license, BLS and ONCC/ONS certification, and 1 year of oncology experience. You may float to PWIC and Piedmont Atlanta Hospital; day shift 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with travel-friendly conditions and Epic charting experience.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Chemo-Certified RN for an outpatient oncology infusion position requiring ONS/ONCC certification and at least 1 year of experience.

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS and ONS/ONCC certification required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience managing oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and extravasation injury
• Experience with chemotherapy administration, including IV push and oral administration, and cytotoxic spill management
• Experience administering antibiotics, antiemetics, and corticosteroids
• Experience caring for patients with various cancer types including breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma, and others
• Experience with symptom management including nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, constipation/diarrhea, and edema

Responsibilities

• Outpatient chemo infusion setting with a primary location at a Kennesaw clinic
• Required to float to PWIC and Piedmont Atlanta Hospital (inpatient), rotating between all three sites
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system experience required
• Provide outpatient oncology infusion care including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Manage central lines, ports, and IV therapies for oncology patients
• Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and oncologic emergencies
• Holiday coverage required per major holiday policy (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Prior perm/per diem/internal staff must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were previously cancelled or not approved to return must complete one assignment outside the health system before reapplying
