American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology Clinic RN for a day-shift outpatient role in Charlotte, NC. Active NC or Compact RN licensure is required, with BLS and Epic EMR experience preferred.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of medical oncology experience, outpatient/triage background, and is comfortable in a high-volume breast medical oncology setting. Nurses must bring their own stethoscope; travel options may apply.

Responsibilities

• Treat adult medical and surgical oncology patients in an outpatient clinic.
• Manage an average daily census of 25 patients across 10 rooms/beds.
• Work 4x10 hour day shifts: Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM.
• No call, no float, no weekend requirements.
• Procedures may include bone marrow biopsies or in-office port removals/biopsies.
• Triages patient calls, relays lab results, and supports in-clinic visits.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient oncology clinic setting treating adult medical and surgical oncology patients, primarily breast medical oncology
• Average daily census of 25 patients across 10 rooms/beds
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• No call requirements
• No float requirements
• No weekend requirements
• No infusions performed on this unit
• Procedures may include bone marrow biopsies (medical oncology) or in-office procedures such as port removals, breast biopsies, and wide local excisions (surgical oncology)
• Nurses triage patient calls, communicate lab results, provide patient education, and support in-clinic visits
• Uses Epic EMR
• First-time travelers with oncology or outpatient experience will be considered
• Navy scrubs required; not provided by facility
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced rate
• Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees (perm, PRN, or EP) must wait 12 months before applying and disclose employment history for facility approval
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units and disclosed at submission
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• All additional RTO requires facility approval and cannot be requested after signing
