American Traveler Staffing Professionals is seeking an experienced Med/Surg-Neuro RN for night shifts in North Carolina. The role requires a NC or compact RN license and 2+ years of RN experience, with BLS; ACLS/NIHSS preferred.

You will cover 3x12-hour nights with 36–48 hours weekly and may float between units, including neuro surgical and neuro diagnosis patients. Careful adherence to safety protocols, telemetry monitoring, and use of EPIC/Pyxis systems is expected.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg-Neuro RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

Medical Surgical - Neuro unit caring for neuro surgical procedure and neuro diagnosis patients
Patient ratios of 1:5-6
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
36 or 48 hours per week available
12-16 weekend shifts required per contract, with flexibility to discuss
Float requirement applies
Uses Pyxis, SBAR, and EPIC systems
Assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team, may be required to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters, with possible reassignment to other units mid-contract

Requirements

Active NC or compact RN license (pending license/certs OK for submission)
BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
EPIC charting experience preferred
Experience with telemetry, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and peripheral IV therapy
Must pass EKG testing prior to start
Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required (pending OK at submission)

Additional Information

Provide medical-surgical nursing care to neuro surgical and neuro diagnosis patients, including CVA care
2 orientation shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation
Must complete required pre-start and annual online training modules
Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
RTO capped at 7 days, with no RTO allowed during the first week and no additional RTO after signing
Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate
Travel pairs allowed if assigned to different units and disclosed at submission
Former Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before applying, with facility approval required
Current travel per diem clinicians must choose between per diem or travel contract status
First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for consideration
