Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced Outpatient Infusion RN for a day-shift clinic role treating complex autoimmune and neurological conditions in Connecticut.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of infusion experience and an active CT or Compact RN license, with BLS certification. You will provide outpatient infusion therapy, manage IVs and ports, monitor for adverse reactions, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Active CT or Compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Skilled in IV therapy, infusions, and accessing/managing ports.
• Experience with infusion pump management and starting/maintaining IVs.
• Experience with biotherapy and active immunotherapy.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and neutropenic precautions.
• Phlebotomy skills required.
• Epic charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient ambulatory infusion center setting.
• Treats patients with neurological, autoimmune, and inflammatory disorders including Multiple Sclerosis, early onset dementia, migraines, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, osteoporosis, psoriatic arthritis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and anemia.
• Works with immunosuppressed patient population.
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Uses Epic for charting.
• Provide infusion therapy and symptom management for patients with complex autoimmune, inflammatory, and neurological conditions.
• Coordinate care and provide patient and family education and support.
• Perform medication administration including antiemetics and corticosteroids.
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the clinic to be eligible for the travel position.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted.
• COVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemption.
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler.
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved.
• One reference required for consideration.
