Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Hospice RN for a 16-week night shift assignment in Vermont. The candidate must have at least 3 years of hospice experience and recent EPIC EMR proficiency, with a VT or compact RN license and BLS certification.

The role entails 12-hour night shifts (Thu–Sat), 36 hours per week, and care in a respite house. Strong documentation skills and experience with end-of-life care, symptom management, and goals-of-care discussions are essential.

Qualifications

• Active VT or compact RN license is required.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years of prior hospice experience required.
• EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years required and nonnegotiable.
• Strong typing skills required due to narrative-heavy documentation.
• Experience with hospice and end-of-life complex symptom management and education.
• Skilled in symptom assessment and management with strong critical thinking abilities.
• Comfortable initiating and participating in goals of care discussions with patients, families, and care teams.
• Experience with medication administration via IV, subcutaneous, oral, sublingual, rectal, and other routes.

Responsibilities

• Work at a respite house providing hospice and palliative care services.
• 12-hour night shifts, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
• 36 hours per week on a consistent weekly schedule.
• No block schedules permitted.
• No floating or charge responsibilities required.
• Provide comprehensive hospice and palliative care to patients in a respite house setting.
• Participate in goals of care discussions and collaborative care planning with patients and families.
• Bi-weekly orientations held on Mondays.
• Employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended as public transportation is not accessible in the area.
• All-season or snow tires recommended for vehicles during November through April.
• Accepts local candidates.
• Radius and local mileage-based rate tiers apply based on direct-line distance from the facility.
