American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position in Seattle, WA, requiring a WA or compact RN license and Level II trauma experience. The role demands BLS, EPIC charting, and readiness for fast-paced float assignments across multiple units.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Float across medical, surgical, medical tele, surgical tele, infusion, ortho, and neurosurgery units.
• Patient ratio of 1:5.
• 13-week assignment with Day (3x12, 7:00-19:30) or Night (3x12, 19:00-7:30) shifts available.
• Every other weekend required.
• No call requirements.
• Floating within the hospital within scope of practice.
• No floating to sister hospitals.
• EPIC charting system used.
• Magnet-designated teaching hospital with Level 4 trauma center designation.
• 281 staffed beds.
• Scrubs provided for OR personnel; any color accepted otherwise.
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions.
• RTO limited to 1 week maximum, with no time off requested during the first 2 weeks of assignment.
• Prior UW staff must have 18 months separation before returning as a traveler.
• First-time travelers may be considered pending manager screening.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring WA or compact RN license and Level II trauma experience.

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Level II trauma experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Relias EKG tele compliance test required
• Proficiency in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with IV therapy, central line, PICC line, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response protocols
• Experience with telemetry, PCU/stepdown, and cardiac drip management
