Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital in Wisconsin. The role requires telemetry proficiency and multi-specialty Med/Surg floating experience, with Epic EMR usage.

The assignment features night shifts (12 hours), travel accommodation considerations, and a focus on high-acuity Med/Surg care including cardiac, spine, and neuro units. Wisconsin RN license and travel experience are required.

Qualifications

• Active WI RN license or compact license required.
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Minimum 2 years of acute care within last 3 years in the specialty.
• Experience across multiple Med/Surg specialties (cardiac, spine, neuro) required.
• Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months.
• Must pass telemetry exam with high accuracy; up to 3 attempts allowed.
• Previous travel experience required.
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Float RN across Med/Surg units including cardiac, spine, and neuro.
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 3x12 with every other weekend, 4x12 accepted.
• Holiday coverage as applicable to operations.
• Float as needed, including Neuro and Oncology units.
• Uses Epic EMR for documentation and orders.
• Provide direct patient care across multiple Med/Surg specialties as a float RN.
• Located at Magnet-designated facility ranked #1 in Wisconsin.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted.
• Parking permit required for onsite parking; alternative transportation options available.
• Telemetry exam requires 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms; passing score 80% with up to three attempts.
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, wound care, IV therapy, and ortho/neuro trauma care valued.
