Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float RN with Epic experience required for a hospital float pool position caring for adult to geriatric patients.

Responsibilities include floating to Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry units, maintaining a 1:5-6 patient ratio, and working 3x12 hour day shifts. The role requires GA license, BLS, and Epic experience; telemety and charge nurse background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active GA or Compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Float pool position within a hospital setting, covering Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry units.
• Adult to geriatric patient population with all potential Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry diagnoses.
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM).
• Float to all Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry units within the hospital, including a sister campus ~3 miles away.
• Works every other weekend, averaging 6 weekends over a 13-week contract.
• No on-call requirements.
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract; no RTO during orientation week.
• Holiday coverage required based on major holidays.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
• Two-week delay for non-compliance due to orientation scheduling.

• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience preferred
• Performs own vital sign checks and blood glucose checks

Responsibilities

• Float pool position within a hospital setting, covering Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry units
• Adult to geriatric patient population with all potential Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
• Required to float to all Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry units within the hospital, including a sister campus approximately 3 miles away
• Works every other weekend, averaging 6 weekends over a 13-week contract
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems

• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized at time of submission
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week

• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Full compliance required prior to start, as non-compliance results in a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
