Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week travel assignment on a 36-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit in Kentucky. The role requires a KY or Compact RN license, 2+ years of experience, and BLS/ACLS 인증.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• 13-week travel assignment on a 36-bed Med/Surg unit in a community hospital.
• Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend.
• Patient ratios of 5:1 or 6:1 with frequent admissions and discharges.
• Care for adults 18+ and geriatric patients; float to step-down as needed.
• Operate Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, drains, NG and PEG tubes; document in MedHost.
• Support Med/Surg coverage with a team-focused, self-starter approach.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• ADN or BSN required
• Experience with IVs, NG tubes, PICC and central line care, and catheter care required
• Experience providing post-op surgical care for general surgery, total knee and hip replacement, hernia repair, and colectomy patients required
• Preferred experience with foley catheters, IV insertion, telemetry, tube feeding, and stroke care
• Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• 13-week travel assignment on a 36-bed Med/Surg unit in a community hospital setting
• Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratios of 5:1 and 6:1 with frequent admissions and discharges on day shift
• Patient population ranges from age 18 to geriatric
• Floating to step-down units required to support Med/Surg coverage as needed
• Uses Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, JP drains, Hemovac drains, NG tubes, and PEG tubes
• Documents using the MedHost EHR system
• Care for patients with diagnoses including total joint replacement, general surgery, COPD, diabetes, dementia, dialysis, stroke, NSTEMI, CHF, and A-Fib
• Team-oriented environment requiring a self-starter mentality
• Navy and black scrubs required; casual wear and Crocs not permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
