Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry assignment in North Carolina. The role requires an active NC or Compact RN license, BLS and ACLS, and at least 1.5 years of RN experience. Associate degree required, BSN preferred, with telemetry and discharge/admission responsibilities.

The position features a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 guaranteed hours weekly, and weekend rotations. Travel rate eligibility applies for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required.
• Associate degree required, BSN preferred.
• EKG interpretation and critical thinking skills are a plus.
• Experience managing discharges and admissions along with basic cardiac drip knowledge preferred.
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical Combination unit functioning as Med/Surg overflow with telemetry monitoring.
• 22-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric patients.
• Patient ratios of 5:1 or 6:1.
• Common diagnoses include CHF, chest pain, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, CKD, and post cardiac cath care.
• Uses Welch Allyn V/S machine, Hoyer Lift with weight scale, Abbott Glucometer, Computers on Wheels, TR band, and Baxter IV pumps.
• Meditech EMR experience preferred.
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• 36 guaranteed weekly hours with every other or every third weekend required (12-hour weekend shifts).
• Floating required.
• No call requirements.
• Supervised by Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse.
• Team-oriented and flexible personality fit preferred.
• Scrub color not assigned, artificial nails not permitted.
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate.
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months.
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment.
