Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Burn Med/Surg RN for a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital in Washington. Candidates should have 1–2 years of RN experience, WA license, and BLS certification. ACLS/PALS are preferred, with EPIC charting experience required.

Responsibilities include direct care for adult/pediatric burn and trauma patients, night shifts, and a 22-bed unit. Travelers float per facility needs; first-time travelers accepted.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience required.
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required.
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions.

• Provide direct patient care to adult and pediatric burn, plastics, and trauma patients.
• Work within a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital with 500 staffed beds.
• Travelers floated first to meet facility needs.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30).
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Wound care RN assists primary RN in tank rooms during 8-hour day shifts (0700-1530).
• EtCO2 monitoring used for specific patients.
• EPIC EMR used, hardstop documentation required.
• Special procedures include anesthesia-assisted wound care.
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position.

American Traveler is hiring a Burn Med/Surg RN for a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 1-2 years of experience and BLS certification.

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required
• Skills in IV therapy, central line care, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy management
• Experience with GI care including colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management
• Experience administering heparin, insulin, and PCA medications
• Conscious sedation experience preferred
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

Responsibilities

• 15-room, 26-bed Burn Med/Surg unit with average daily census of 22 patients
• Patient population includes adult burn, plastics, and pediatric trauma/burn cases
• Patient ratios of 3-4:1 on days and 4-5:1 on nights
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Special procedures include anesthesia-assisted wound care (nitrous available), 2 tank rooms, and a bath room for wound care
• Wound care RN assists primary RN in tank rooms during 8-hour day shifts (0700-1530)
• EtCO2 monitoring used for specific patients
• EPIC EMR used, hardstop documentation required
• Travelers floated first to meet facility needs
• Provide direct patient care to adult and pediatric burn, plastics, and trauma patients
• Work within a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital with 500 staffed beds
• Blue scrubs provided by the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
• Minimal RTO accommodated; no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the contract
• Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
• Pending license candidates not accepted
