Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med-Surg/PCU night shift in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in Washington. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, an active WA license (compact preferred), and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

Flexibility to float between Med-Surg and PCU/Telemetry is required. This role involves caring for a mix of Med-Surg and PCU/Telemetry patients, providing education, and maintaining patient safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• Experience in Med-Surg and PCU/Telemetry settings required

Responsibilities

• Work in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in the Med-Surg/PCU unit
• Caring for a mix of Med-Surg Adult and PCU/Telemetry patients
• Night shift schedule
• Must be willing and able to flex to other departments as needed
• Provide patient and family education using appropriate teaching modalities
• Implement patient safety measures including side rails, restraints, and safe equipment use per policy
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation and troubleshooting of PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg equipment
• Follow infection control, isolation procedures, and standard precautions at all times
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient status, interventions, and responses
• Complete physician orders accurately and in a timely manner, including 24-hour order checks as assigned
• Give complete and accurate shift reports to oncoming staff
• Communicate effectively with other departments and report critical lab values per policy
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, patient rooms, and general supplies
• Candidates should be willing to work through the upcoming holiday season with minimal requested time off
