Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift at a critical access hospital. The role combines OB/Labor with MedSurg duties with a heavy emphasis on L&D coverage and a 3x12-hour schedule.

The ideal candidate holds an active KS or Compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/NRP certifications, and at least 1 year in Labor and Delivery within a critical access setting. References are required.

• Prior critical access hospital experience

Responsibilities

• Labor & Delivery and MedSurg duties in critical access hospital
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 6:00
• OB patient ratio 1:1
• MedSurg ratio 1:3 (1:4 in peak season)
• Uses CPSI/Perigen charting system
• Blocked scheduling may be accommodated
• Provide nursing care across both units
• Local candidates accepted
• Background and return staff policies reviewed case-by-case

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift role at a critical access hospital requiring prior critical access experience and combined OB/MedSurg coverage.

Requirements

• Active KS or Compact RN license required

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery specialty required
• Prior critical access hospital experience required
• References required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Critical access hospital setting combining Labor and Delivery with MedSurg duties (approximately 75% MedSurg given low delivery volume of 1-2 babies per week)
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 6:00
• OB patient ratio of 1:1
• MedSurg patient ratio of 1:3, with potential 1:4 during cold/flu season
• Uses CPSI/Perigen charting system
• Blocked scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
• Provide nursing care across both Labor and Delivery and MedSurg units
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Background and return staff policies reviewed on a case-by-case basis
