Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology RN with 2+ years of IR experience and prior travel assignments. Applicable AZ license and certifications are required, with Meditech experience preferred, and a strong focus on procedural sedation and radiation safety.

The role covers IR procedures, on-call weekends, and a 1:1 patient ratio, in a fast-paced travel-friendly environment with comprehensive benefits and housing support.

Qualifications

• Active AZ or compact RN license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of IR RN experience.
• Prior travel assignment experience required.
• Meditech charting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in procedural sedation monitoring and radiation safety.
• Experience with vascular, pulmonary, genitourinary and neuro interventional procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Interventional Radiology unit.
• Provide nursing care for IR procedures (angioplasty, biopsies, nephrostomy, etc.).
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and other medications.
• Assist with central line and PICC line care and vascular access.
• On-call shifts; travel-friendly scheduling and 4x10 hour days.
• Operate Meditech charting system and ensure patient safety.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN with 2+ years of IR experience and prior travel assignment experience required.

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an IR RN
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• Proficiency in procedural sedation monitoring, vascular closure systems, and radiation/laser safety
• Experience with vascular, pulmonary, genitourinary, and neurological interventional procedures

Responsibilities

• Work in the Interventional Radiology unit
• Day shift schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM (4x10 hours)
• 1:1 patient ratio
• On-call required for 1 weekend (Fri-Sun) and 3-4 weekdays per month
• Meditech charting system used
• Provide nursing care for interventional radiology procedures including angioplasty, chemoembolization, liver biopsy, thoracentesis, and nephrostomy among others
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and other specialized medications
• Assist with central line insertion, PICC line care, and vascular access procedures
• RTO restricted from Dec 15th to Jan 3rd, with minimal time off requested at time of consideration
• Holiday coverage required, including on-call shifts for Dec 24/25 and Dec 31/Jan 1
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Travel pairs accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before being eligible to return as travelers
