Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN with moderate sedation experience for a 13-week acute care assignment. The position requires an active ND- or Compact-licensed RN, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS active certifications, and a minimum of 1 year of IR/acute care experience.

You will work in a Level 2 Trauma Center IR department with a fast-paced case load and on-call duties. Benefits include comprehensive insurance, 401(k), housing allowance, travel and licensure

• Moderate sedation experience required
• Strong teamwork and willingness to assist
• Radiation badge must be in hand before start
• Copy of driver's license required
• Two professional references (last 12 months supervisor, last 3 years peer/supervisor)

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting in a Level 2 Trauma Center Interventional Radiology with 2 labs
• Average 5–10 cases per day including inpatient, outpatient and emergent cases
• Case types include stroke thrombectomy, embolizations, lines, tubes, biopsies with drain/chest tubes
• Supports CT and ultrasound areas
• Uses Epic EMR and Philips Xper (Hemo) and Siemens C-Arm equipment
• Schedule includes 2x10h and 2x8h shifts or all 8h shifts; hours 0600–1630 and 0700–1530
• Self-scheduling 17 days in advance for 6-week blocks
• On-call 1–2 weeknights, every third weekend, every other holiday
• Call response time 30 minutes; float to Radiology pre/post areas
• RN manages conscious sedation with autonomy; charting, circulating and pre/post care for IR procedures
• IR radiologist and in-house intensivist MD available 24/7; IR on call after hours
• One week of unit orientation (classroom and lab)
• Scrubs provided; bring own lock and hospital shoes
• Up to 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; no holiday RTO
• Candidates must reside 50+ miles away; no recent CommonSpirit-affiliated facility employment

• Schedule consists of 2x10hr and 2x8hr shifts, or all 8-hour shifts, with hours ranging 0600-1630 and 0700-1530
• Team scheduling with self-scheduling posted 17 days in advance for 6-week blocks
• On-call required 1-2 weeknights per week, every third weekend, and every other holiday
• Call response time is 30 minutes
• Floating required to Radiology pre/post areas
• IR techs and a Team Lead are present in the lab to support the unit
• RN will manage conscious sedation with autonomy, in addition to charting, circulating, and pre/post care duties for IR procedures
• Interventional Radiologist and in-house intensivist MD available 24/7, with IR on call after hours
• One week of unit-specific orientation including classroom and lab training
• Scrubs are provided; bring your own lock for locker and hospital-designated shoes
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved, including after submission
• No holiday RTO permitted
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and may not currently or recently have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity
